Medicated sheepskins

What is pressure ulcers?

If you are forced to lie or sit a lot, for example in a wheelchair, you may suffer from bedsores (decubitus ulcers). If you suffer from this, you have suffered damage to the skin and tissue. The cause of this is pressure on the skin. When you find it difficult to change position regularly, the same area of skin becomes trapped for too long. As a result, the small blood vessels in those places are closed and the skin and/or the layers under the skin are damaged.

A medicated sheepskin will help you to prevent these bedsores.

How does a medical sheepskin help prevent pressure ulcers?

The medicinal sheepskin is a scientifically proven effective aid against bedsores. Because the coat has a short and dense wool, the pressure of the body is distributed. Thus, not all pressure is placed on certain points, such as the shoulder blades or the tailbone. This means that the skin that is normally under a lot of pressure is less heavily stressed. For example, the medicinal coat helps to prevent you from developing bedsores.

A sheepskin is breathable. Because the coat ventilates, it is nice and warm in the winter and wonderfully cool in the summer.

The big difference between a normal sheepskin and a medicinal sheepskin is the length of the hairs and that the medicinal fur has a firmer structure.

Washing instructions medicinal sheepskin

Unlike other coats, the medicinal coat can be washed out. These short-haired sheepskins are specially tanned so that they can be washed. Wash the coat on a wool wash program and let it air dry, not in the sun or on the stove. Stretch the skin every few hours to prevent the leather from becoming hard and stiff. Do not tumble dry!
