Verzorgen van schapenvacht pantoffels

Washing and care instructions for sheepskin slippers.

We recommend not washing your sheepskin slippers for as long as possible, as wool is naturally self-cleaning. Instead, air them out regularly. Should washing become necessary, please wash them by hand using a mild liquid wool detergent. Do not use fabric softener.

Dry the slippers at room temperature. Never dry them in a tumble dryer, on a radiator, or near a heater, and avoid direct sunlight. To help the slippers keep their shape, you can stuff them with paper, such as newspaper or kitchen paper.

Once dry, you can brush them up using a suede brush.

Please note: Sheepskin slippers with a print cannot be washed!

Sometimes, not all stains will come out. In that case, you can gently treat the stains using the Collonil Suede Nubuck Box by rubbing it softly over the stain. The nubuck block has one side for mild, gentle cleaning and one side for thorough cleaning. This block can be ordered from us.

Washing sheepskin in a washing machine?

Some manufacturers claim that sheepskin slippers can be machine washed on a wool cycle at a maximum temperature of 30°C (86°F), using a wool detergent.

However, we strongly advise against this. Slippers with a lush fur trim, in particular, often do not come out of the washing machine looking their best, and there is a higher risk of the wool becoming matted (felted).
