How to Care for Sheepskin Slippers?

Item 12 of 19
Overview

Washing and care advice for sheepskin slippers.

We advise not to wash sheepskin slippers for as long as possible. After all, wool is self-cleaning. Let them air regularly. If it is necessary to wash them, wash them by hand and use a mild liquid wool detergent. Do not use fabric softener.

Dry the slippers at room temperature, but certainly not in a tumble dryer, on a radiator or stove and avoid direct sunlight. To keep the slippers in good shape, you can stuff them with paper, for example newspaper or kitchen paper.

After drying, you can brush them with a suede brush.

You cannot wash sheepskin slippers with a print!

However, it is possible that not all stains will come out. In that case, you can gently treat the stains with the Collonil suede nubuck block, by gently rubbing the stain. The nubuck block has one side for a mild, soft cleaning and one side for a thorough cleaning. This nubuck block can be ordered from us.

Washing sheepskin with a washing machine?

Some manufacturers say that sheepskin slippers can be washed in a washing machine on a wool wash program at a maximum of 30 degrees, with a wool detergent.

We advise against doing that in any case. Especially slippers with a luxurious fur edge often do not come out of the washing machine looking very nice and there is a greater chance that the wool will felt.
